Virginia's junior senator Mark Warner was interviewed today on MSNBC. As would be expected from his history, he talked about job creation for small business. Saying that he was frustrated with the law-making process, he wished that legislators from both sides of the aisle would find a way to cooperate, using good ideas no matter which party they came from. He did take Republicans to task for being uncooperative, pointing out that some even criticized the drop in unemployment.

As a new guy, I'm frustrated just with the whole process up here. If there was ever a time when we ought to check our Democratic hats and Republican hats at the door when we walk onto the floor of the Senate, it ought to be now. I heard one of the earlier reports, you know some of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, the RNC, criticizing the fact that the unemployment rate has dropped. That's crazy! |
He also talked about the need for more dollars to get into the marketplace from the first Obama stimulus, especially for small businesses. Watch the entire interview
