Wow! The latest News7 Survey USA poll is bad news for Tom Perriello, freshman congressman in Virginia's 5th District. It shows Robert Hurt ahead by 61% to 35%, an increase of three points from six weeks ago.
We here in the 9th get a lot of news of the 5th, and Perriello has worked hard to be visible and responsive to his constituents, but his support of President Obama and his "yes" vote on Health Care Reform evidently is just too much for conservative Southside.

According to an article this morning in
The Washington Post,
"...Perriello's camp was extremely critical of the last SurveyUSA poll, calling it "useless" arguing that the sample used far more Republicans than it should have given the breakdown of registered voters in the 5th district. Unusually, that July poll showed just 3 percent of voters to be undecided, while the new SurveyUSA poll had just 2 percent undecided. Most polls -- particularly those conducted this far from Election Day -- have a much higher proportion of undecided voters."
