Just finished watching South Carolina Republican Governor Mark Sanford meltdown on cable news....
Here are my initial thoughts about the Governor's affair--it's the hypocrisy and the lying that trips up politicians. Sanford went to Argentina to "tango" with his mistress, but did not handle the cover-up well. What am I saying?
No One can cover up their indiscretions nowadays. Oh, those 'Christian' Republicans and their family values. If only they walked the walk as well as they talk the talk. :'-(
Perhaps Haley Barbour, an oldster in the Republican Party, is smarter than we thought--
see Monday's post. Now that, one-by-one, this "Republican class of candidates" (you know, the young Turks who supposedly will challenge Obama) continue to shoot themselves in the foot, perhaps Barbour or others will step up to fill the void. Oh, I hope so.
