On Monday, George Allen formally entered the Senate race for 2012. Not that this is news to anyone, but he did one thing that I simply do not understand. He brought up the "Macaca" incident again, and again, refused to admit that he realized the word was offensive. All you have to do is watch the video to see that he clearly meant it offensively and was enjoying putting down the Webb tracker. I guess he thinks that political discourse has fallen so far during the last five years that voters will not care about his prejudices.

"I needlessly threw a college student into the race, and I should not have," Allen said. "Had I known the word was offensive, I certainly would not have said it."
